PENCH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

The Pench Tiger Reserve is named after the Pench River that flows through it, dividing the reserve into two parts. The Western Block falls in the Gumtara Range of the Chhindwara district Forest Division, while the Eastern Block is in the Karmajhiri Range of the Seoni district Forest Division. The reserve is divided into three forest ranges, nine forest circles, 42 forest beats, and 162 forest compartments. The NH 44 runs between Nagpur and the reserve.
