KARNALA BIRD SANCTUARY
Location
Karnala Bird Sanctuary is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and bird watchers. Located off the Mumbai-Pune national highway to Goa, the sanctuary is centered on the historic Karnala Fort. It is easily accessible by road and rail, with Pan being the nearest railhead. Regular buses are available from Panvel Bus Stand, and the sanctuary is open for visitors from 7am to 3pm. There are many hotels and resorts located near the sanctuary, and two government rest houses inside the sanctuary area.

Best Time to Visit Karnala Bird Sanctuary
Best time: July- August, and October- February. Timings: Every day 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Entry Fee Charged at Karnala Bird Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is open from sunrise to sunset. The ticket costs are Rs. 35 per person and Rs. 100 are charged for a professional camera.
Are there leopards in Karnala Bird Sanctuary?
The Karnala fort is located on the top of the hill in the sanctuary. It is about 1hr. medium hard trek to Karnala fort. There was a sighting of a leopard at Karnala.
Karnala Trek Difficulty
Ranges from very easy to tool level. Trek Distance: Approximately 3 kilometers. Washroom facilities are available at the base village. Location: Situated near Panvel.
